In the history of football, there are only two people who won World Cup titles as a player and coach, namely Mario Zagallo and Franz Beckenbauer. Beckenbauer was nicknamed Der Kaizer or the Emperor, more legendary because he considered the best defender in history as a player.
Beckenbauer led West Germany's success winning the 1974 World Cup, only three years after being elected as team captain. In the last World Cup was also listed as the first captain Beckenbauer who lifted the World Cup with a new design, replacing the Jules Rimet trophy permanently owned by Brazil in 1970.
At the 1990 World Cup in Italy, Beckenbauer lifted the World Cup again, this time as Germany coach. Earlier in the 1986 World Cup, Beckenbauer also successfully took Germany to the finals and eventually defeated by Argentina with the icon, Diego Maradona. It was the legendary achievement would be difficult to be repeated by any German people, who knows how long.
